Front License Plate

I live in Ohio (Cincinnati) and it's illegal to drive without a license plate on the front of your car. There are 2 holes drilled in on the front of the bumper but my plates do not line up with these holes. Should I go to AutoZone or go to my GM dealer to get a bracket for these? What is my best option at this point?

If you bought the car new it SHOULD have come with the bracket. Check the cubby holes in back and under the rear deck.

I purchased the car used. I guess I will go to my GM dealer and see if they can get me one, or is there another way that it can be mounted?

The holes in the front bumper, I believe, would be for the GM License Plate Holder. The GM holder would have holes aligned for the license plate....as these, I think, are standard across the country.

Check the picture gallery here and the personalized plate thread for additional pictures....they may provide some ideas.

I didn't receive one either and mine was new. But, I also did not wait until the dealer prepped my car before taking it home. Do they add it from their supply inventory?

I can't imagine that a plate bracket costs all that much. My HHR came with one that was put to immediate use to satisfy those Motor Vehicle boys.

Here in Michigan the front plate bracket shows up on the invoice as a seperate line item if the car comes with one because our state does not require them.

I am glad that Alabama only requires one plate.I think a plate on the front ruins the look of a car.On the same subject,I got pulled over by a municipal LEO on my last visit to Jersey so he could ask me where my front plate was.I pointed out that they only gave me one.

Indiana does not require a front plate - however, my dealer got mine from cincinnati, so I have a front plate. Don't really want it, just hate to have holes in the front bumper
