Fuses falling out

i tried looking for anything similar to this and couldn't find any posts about it so here is my dilemma i thought i knew what i was doing when i went to put in my stereo. in my install kit there was a pigtail to add on to one blade of the fuse for the remote power well i added it to my ignition fuse and it spreed the contacts out so far nothing will stay in. my question is does anybody have disassembly instructions for the fuse box or does anybody know what wires i can cut to add an external fuse holder. i tried reading the wireing diagram but couldn'y make heads or tails of it

2006 hhr ls

thank you all

Welcome to the site, which fuse panel? Interior in the console or the fuse box under the hood?

There's not a whole lot of information on removing the panel

There has to be fasteners there somewhere, please disconnect the negative post at the battery first. (I know you knew that)

The wiring diagram should have wire color codes. The horizontal connector at the bottom is C1/X1, the vertical connector is C2/X2. The large red one is C4/X4. Some years they use C for connector other years they use X, but the numbers are the same.

I would start by probing wires in C3/X3 for the kind of power you want, ign, constant, retained. Generally any wire with red on it in any combination is Bat+, pink is ign, brown is accessory. Probe to be sure!

Don't cut a wire; just strip a bit so you can wrap the end of your wire around it, or use a tap.

Just (deform) bend the metal tabs of the fuses a little bit so that the bend holds them in place.......problem solved.
