GM note on CLUNKS in front end
Just happen to find this on GM's website. In some instances you may wish to consider this........
2003-2011
Cobalt, G5, HHR, Ion, Pursuit -- Steering and front suspension noise concerns - clunk, thump, rattle, knocking, pop, shudder, vibration
Replace the leaking strut dust boot and jounce bumper Use the correct adhesive and preliminary procedures prior to securing the jounce bumper to the strut spring seat
Replace only the leaking strut
