Thumbs down GM reman engine

Got a 07 LT,2.4L,put 20k miles on it,valves went bad,got a reman from GM,sent me an engine with NO crankshaft position sensor ring, sent it back, they sent another one, same story.Reported it to GM,they were not aware of this till I PITCHED A *****,now I find that this has happened alot.My baby has not had a engine for 27 days.So if yer thinking about getting a reman engine, make sure your supplier has actually tested it out, might cost a bit more. When I asked GM for some help with the rental car($500.00 as of today)Guess how that worked out? NOTHING. Anybody else have this happen?:

But you forgot to approve it, I did it.

I did not know that GM sold reman engines.
Most remans come bare, many don't even have an oil pan. ALL electronics are the purchasers problem.

The HHR was a special type of auto. It wasn't quite a car, it wasn't quite a wagon and it wasn't quite a suv. It only appealed to a select amount of people. I think GM made this car on a hope that it would hook more people but missed the mark.

I disagree, I think it hooked a lot of people. It was in production for 6 years. It was a direct response to the PT Cruiser and designed by the same guy. There are tons of HHRs on the road. Its a wagon for a certainty. GM listed it as an SUV to get it into it truck fleet to help its CAFE numbers, but the reality is that its a Cobalt with a really cool and far more functional small wagon body. One that has more CU of cargo space than other wagons of the same size range.

I agree with Doc, there are an awful lot of them out there. It did go head to head with the PT Cruiser, and IMO had/has a lot more to offer than the PT. The demand for them used seems to be cyclic. A year ago the dealer was offering me virtually what I paid for my 07 new, this year not so much. Regardless, I'm hanging on to it since it is specially set up to tow behind our motor home.
