Has any one installed a Short Shifter?

I have an LS and am interested in installing a short shifter on my 5-speed tyranny. I can not stand how long the shifting throws are and want to shorten them up. I have been looking at the one made by TWM Performance which claims a 38% throw reduction of the shift lever. I have searched the forum for this with little results. I am close to pulling the trigger but would like a little more information.
(No i am not talking about shorting the height of the shifter. That does almost nothing for shortening the throws. I don't want the lever to be lower, I am happy with it's hight.)

1. Has anyone else done this?
2. If so where did you get the kit?
3. How difficult was it to install?
4. Was it worth installing and did it do what you wanted it to do?

Any info is much appreciated.

You Know I would be interested in this.. I have a 5 speed and I think the distance between gears is way too much.. I think if it had a short throw shifter I could actually drive the think faster. I have on a couple of ocassions missed shifts/grinded gears.. But I am use to BMW manuals from where I work. LOL.

Member "jeffs396" Sent me this link from one that he bought off of a supporting vendor...https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...=short+shifter

However, this is not what I am looking for. This one he says is just shorter in height and he says his throws are about the same.

I was hoping someone who has the TWMPerforamnce shifter installed saw this link. If you do let me know.

I might have a suggestion for you. Recently I had to have the 5-speed shifter in my 2007 LS changed due to a very annoying squeaking noise it was making. After the dealer replaced it I noticed that it was actually shorter in overall height than the original, the throw was shorter, and I could access my window controls easier. I believe the difference in shifter height is due to the changes made for the 2009 HHR's. The window controls are on the doors and that the center console has been raised about 1 to 1-1/2 inch. I don't really care - all I know is that I love were the shifter is now (wife doesn't like the change - but then again she doesn’t get to drive my baby very often anyway).

That is intresting. Maybe they changed it for the 09 model year. I

I have already changed out mine to a TWM short shifter kit. It works great.
