I liked the '99 GMC Sonoma we traded for the HHR just fine except for one thing! That old design 4 cyl. engine was a real "Slug"!! Now if it had the HHRs engine in it probably never would have traded!

The only thing my 98 Windstar had over my 06 HHR was more room. That just meant we took more junk with us on trips. It cost $9K more and it's best mileage is what I get daily driving around town. However, the Windstar is still going strong at 105,000 miles and I hope the HHR lasts even longer.

Captain Howdy, what kind of driving record do you have? Those insurance premiums are outrageous! That's worse than what I pay for homeowners living 3 blocks from the Gulf of Mexico.

My driving record is pretty clear now (last ticket comes off this year) but I was young plus had a few accidents and tickets under my belt. I completely totaled my Sunfire right before I bought my Mustang. That's the reason I needed a new car. I was about 24 when I bought it so I hadn't had any age reductions yet. Allstate's premiums were just outrageous at the time. I think they've went down now to try and stay competitive with the competition's rates now. I stayed with Allstate for like my first year or two of owning the car and the I switched to Geiko and they saved me nearly $4000. If I remember my monthly payment with Allstate it was like $486 or something like that. With my car payment and insurance I was paying about $900 a month to drive a Mustang. What the hell.....I was young and had a good paying job so you only live once....... I'll buy another Mustang soon enough.

Glad to see the premiums went down. Isn't 25 a wonderful age?
