I bought a 75mm (3") sanding disc kit with mandrel and velcro pad


I taped around te headlight and started sanding using a battery drill. Started at 600 grit, then 1000 and finally 2000. I then used a buffing pad and polish (I used 3M finese-it)



I must have changed the battery three times doing one head light. Results were absolutely PERFECT!!!

Now I need to reseal them, so I used Rustoleum 2X ultr Cover Semi Gloss Clear (Product Number 327865) It was raining outside and I am in the garage, so humidity was a little high. I sprayed a light coat and immediately it looked foggy, well I let it dry for an hour and then did a second pass, it looks more foggy. After 24 hours of curing it looks no better. I contacted rustoleum and they said take it off and buy rustoleum's "Wipe headlight Restore", this is a wet wipe cloth that comes in a sealed bag.

I sanded and polished it again and it looks great. So what is the BEST product to seal them with?

 

I would think any product that is UV protectant.

And yes if you can dehumidify the area that you work in, would be the way to go.
Do you have a roll around AC home unit?

 

2 part urethane automotive clear. You can get it in spray cans from some manufacturers.
