Help with knobs and stuff

I finally purchased an HHR yesterday - gray, 07, with 77k, auto and an LT. I purchased it at a dodge dealer, it did not come with an owner's manual, so there are a few things I don't know and need help with. So, thanks in advance.
- How do I turn off the compressor for the a/c? I've tried every botton related to the a/c, and nothing turns off the compressor. My guess is the large round dial, with red and blue stripes for setting the tempreture, which as a "snow flake" in the center, is meant to turn the a/c off, however, the air is still cold even with the light off on this dial... ?
- It did not come with a key "clicker" and the key I have appears to be a newly made key, which does not work well in the exterior door lock on the driver's door (makes me think it was repo'd). The dealer told me they would see if the vehicle came with a recieving unit, and if so, they'll give me the key fob. And their guess was, since its an LT, with the electric interior door locks, it probably has the receiver... any ideas if that's true?
- When turning the car off, opening the driver's door, and hitting the auto lock button for doors, the car will "chime" and then the second time of using the auto lock button, it will lock the doors. Is it chiming because the lights are still on, even though the engine is off, and the keys removed?

-Lastly, where can I get an air spoiler for the top of the rear of the vehicle?

Yesterday, after receiving the car, we drove it for a trip of 316 miles, and the mileage computer said we had gotten 34.4 mpg's... I thought that was pretty darn good... is this average mpg's?

I have to say, except for these few little things, I do really like the car thus far. I traded an 06 F 150, which got about 14 mpg's... what a great change. OK, thanks - kip

If you have the recirc button on, the a/c runs if you have it turned on or not.

The chimes can be set to your own preference through the DIC. You can download the manual here...https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/general-hhr-4/online-owners-manual-3074/

Two styles of spoilers available, best bet for either would be ebay.

The owners manual is available online, and I'm sure a search on this board would produce a thread with a link to it. If Recirc is off, pushing the center of that large round button turns the compressor on and off. Running defrost will automatically turn the compressor on, however. Yes your LT is setup for remote entry, my 07 LS is, and there are zero options on mine. As far as mileage, mine is a five speed, it consistantly gets 35+MPG highway, and high twenties city driving, but again I think because its a manual five speed and I drive it conservatively helps. OOps, I see the link to the manual on the above post. Good luck with your HHR.

OK, got the a/c figured out... I can hear the compressor shutting on and off.
- the chimes - I was wanting to know if they are supposted to chime, and why not all the time when the door is opened and attempted to be locked?
-Any idea about the remote entry clicker???
-I can not get the rear hatch door to lock... I assume that the electric door locks do not effect the hatch door. So how does it lock? Is this what the remote does??? Will it just not lock without the remote???
Again, thanks much - kip

I don't get chimes with the key off, except if the lights are manually turned on. I think that is all programable through the DIC, though. As far as the rear hatch, when the car is locked, the electric switch does not work. I believe the hatch lockes when the electric locks are activated, but will have to check to verify it doesn't only happen with the remote.

Never be afraid to ask questions here, for the most part, we've all "been there, done that" so someone will always be willing to help.

The chime when the door opens sets the locks to engage 30 seconds after the last door is closed. I use it for taking kid out of child seat. If you hit the lock button again, it bypasses the delay and locks immediately.
