HHR Antena Replacement

Have not purchased an HHR yet, but in doing my research it seems like the antenna could be prone to damage in car washes, etc.
Is there a shorter replacement that would function the same way and may not be prone to damage?
Thank's in advance for your feedback.

Don't try to find them in your local auto parts store. They aren't even aware that auto makers put antennas on car roofs.

As scarecrow mentioned, there are options. What I did before I bought my stubby was unscrew the antenna before going through an automated car wash, then replace it afterwards. The best idea though is to buy a stubby. Mine is the stretch stubby, that easily converts into 3 sizes. The only type of car wash I would wory about is one with brushes that go over the top of the car. Brushless car washes would not be a problem.

I just used an OEM Onstar antenna, it gets great reception and was cheap. Got it off Ebay for $4.99
