HHR buying options

Would you ever buy a HHR with higher miles that is fairly "dirty" from a dealership as long as the price is low?

I am thinking I can get a well used but still nice 2LT HHR and save thousands after I do some cleaning/detailing.

Even the $14k HHR's didnt seem THAT clean to me, at least to my standards.

Obviously the more miles the more wear and tear but for several thousand dollars less...would you consider it?

What do you consider high mileage? After trading in my 99 Buick for a new 06 HHR, I only paid $14K including tax etc.

I would do it. Ive bought high mileage all my life, but I know how to fix them most of the time. Around here the cheapest Ive seen is $6k with over 100,000 miles.

130k, Loaded 2LT with chrome package listed for 5700. Daytona blue.

Only thing I dont like is how all these things have a small rust spot on the rear doors

The hhrs doors do rust pretty bad. They are very reliable cars in my opinion. If the carfax checked out and when i looked it over, if the problem areas on an hhr checked out i would have no problem buying a higher milage hhr.

One more thing. This is just an observation based on posts on this site. It seems to me the 2.4 engine suffers a little more from tranny problems. Not saying they all have issues it just seems like i have seen quite a few posts about them.

Here's one I found just searching real quick. Dunno if it will help at all. Just search for rust or door rusting.
