HHR Future Plans

Here is what I want to do with my 2008 HHR 2.4 L. Tell me what you guys think.

(So far I have debaged the logos, and blacken the front and back grille.)

1. Gloss the blacked out grille.

2. Blacken my chrome exterior door handles.

3. Get new tires.

4. Tinted tail lights and black depo head lights.

5. New Speakers (Any recommendations for HHR)

6. Possibly an air intake (Any recommendations for HHR that are CARB approval. I was thinking about the CGS or K & N. Want to get other peoples opinions if you feel any performance differences or anything)

If anyone has any opinions on anything or if you think I should add something/not add it. Please comment. Thanks!

"if you think I should add something"

Leveling rear coil springs, (BIG improvement) then 'perhaps' & rear anti-sway bar.

Here are my thoughts....

1. Gloss the blacked out grille.

2. Blacken my chrome exterior door handles.

3. Get new tires. (New shoes will really make an HHR come to life.)

4. Tinted tail lights and black depo head lights.

5. New Speakers (Any recommendations for HHR) (I'm from the 8-Track Kenwood era, you know..clueless about almost all the modern goodies.)

6. Possibly an air intake (Any recommendations for HHR that are CARB approval. I was thinking about the CGS or K & N. Want to get other peoples opinions if you feel any performance differences or anything)....(Also consider the GMPP intake, they come up here for sale used every once and a while.)

CARB approved intakes cost too much for getting no gain other than sound.

Heres my opinion. Im not a fan of a blacked out ride. Thats just me though. I say go for it. All the mods sound good to me. As for an intake power gains are next to none. You will get a nice growl from the engine compartment though. I say go with what sleeper said. Some goldline leveling springs or cobalt ss springs. Those plus a sway bar really tighten up the handling and the leveling springs give a nice look. Price wise my best mod was the leveling springs.

Hey whats wrong with blacking out your ride?

Modding comes down to personal preference. Number one mistake in modding is doing stuff to appease others. You have to do what you like...you make the payments and drive it everyday...just don't put SS badges on it

I dont think anything is wrong with it. I understand the look just not my style. Chef I like what you are doing with the silver car. The black car and blacking everything out isnt for me. Idk just my opinion.
