No payments are the way to go some times!

 

Look at it this way.... You know the car inside and out and you said it's still in good shape..... another couple of years with no payments won't be so bad. Put some of the money you were thinking would go to payments away each month and then if it does need something out of warranty, the money would be there. (I know, I'm probably preaching to the choir, just sayin)

 

Plus, 90,000 miles is nothing. That's just getting broken in for me. I bought my HHR at 90,000 miles, and now I'm at 149,000 miles. Do I regret buying a car with such high miles? Not at all, my HHR has been extremely reliable. I plan to keep for a long time still, I know it will last. The only "out of the ordinary" thing I've had to replace is the engine cooling fan, only cost $178 anyway. I can't complain. Aside from that, it's just been regular wear-and-tear items, oil changes, brakes, suspension parts, tires, etc. Not that Hyundai's are bad, but HHRs Rule!!!!!!

 

And I'm not doubting you but if you could have gotten 7k on your trade that would have been a very good deal...I got 4500 I think on my HHR with 98K on it. It was a LT1 but with every option except for the 2.4 and sunroof and roof rack. I thought going by KBB I was going to get close to 7k but you really need to look at Galves to get a realistic idea on trade value.

KBB rated it 7875, NADA was 8525; sorry I'm not going to PAY someone to find out what I already know from two sources I've been using for decades

 

What I mean is did you get a hard offer of 7K for the trade? I thought the same thing too until I went to trade at 4 or 5 different dealerships. The Galves was actually less than what I ended up getting but I was shocked at how little value the HHR has in a trade. Part of it is probably due to the market being flooded with them because of so many being rental vehicles.

The only time I got KBB or above was when I traded my Matrix in on the HHR, I got 10K which was about 1500 more than KBB.

I know you said you are hanging onto it...if you do trade I hope you do get KBB...maybe I just got screwed lol

As soon as we decide to keep the HHR the CEL and T/C warning lights come on. To make things even more fun the airbag warning light came on in our Colorado!

CRAP!!!

 

They know things these vehicles we think are inanimate, you've hurt their feelings and they are acting up to show you that.

I have noticed that very soon after I've had thoughts of trading or selling, something always goes wrong with the intended "victim" of the trade or sell off, and Michelle says I'm goofy because I think the toaster is "out to get me". Hopefully the issues are minor and not expensive to put right, glad you decided to forgo the Hyundai in favor of keeping the HHR.
