Installed boards myself. orded from P&G chevy, at the time you could still get boards painted. Had to paint the ones that I put on my wifes. The 3rd HHR had them on it...

Bought mine after getting the car, guess it was an after thought, so I got mine in black instead of the color match to the car

FIrst time I saw an HHR I didn't like the boards on it. But after doing research on the car, I discovered the problem with the fenders and so it was a must have to get them.

Pays to do your homework.

They are not standard on 2008 models as stated in an earlier post. My dealer had 5 cars without the boards on his lot. I negotiated a price and had them dealer installed when I purchased the car. They also did come painted. Took them 1 hour to put them on.

Came with the car. All Canadian HHR's come with them except the 2006's.

No vote option... The SS has some "pseudo-boards" that look good, but serve no usefull purpose.

Dealer offered tremenous financial assistance after Chevy declined to do anything other than the repairs under the TSB. Dealer has been fantastic! Chevy could learn a few things from them.

I have been asked through a PM to post what is available from Chevy concerning running boards. So here it is:

Part Number**Color**(GM Code)

19158085 Victory Red (74U)

19166273 Black (41U)

19166274 Silverstone Metallic (67U) Second Design

19166275 Sunburst Orange Metallic (56U) Second Design

19166276 Imperial Blue Metallic (37U) Second Design

19169603 Primer (no code) First Design

19166277 Primer (no code) Second Design

I am not positive on this but I believe the first and second design has to do with the mounting plate material under the boards. I will get more information on that.

Me thinks me right......

.......But I am sure someone who owns on can either tell us or give me the last eight of their VIN and I can look it up. I don't own one and I am at home so I don't have the ability to check this out.
