Do any of you know where I can get an SS emblem for the steering wheel airbag? My SS is a rebuilt car & doesn't have the SS emblem. I can buy the whole airbag on Ebay for $299 but don't want to do that if I can find an emblem

 

Do a search I remember someone on hear doing that it required removing and disassemble of the air bag cover

BEWARE! There is a guy on Ebay selling a "HHR SS" airbag that is counterfeit. He takes a standard airbag apart, replaces the emblem with a smooth one with a SS decal & re-assembles it. He claims it is real, but you can see that it has been apart & the decal is not right. He gets $299. Ebay won't do anything about him, so I'm posting a warning.

 

The airbag is the same part. The bowtie is NOT a decal it is a metal piece with tabs in slots (well, maybe a SS decal on the bowtie). Try any one of the online GM parts sites, my current fav is GMpartsoutlet.net, but here are a few others like Nalley, GMpartsdirect etc.

I am pretty sure that I saw the emblem only when I was shopping for hairbag parts last week. But anyways those sites will give you a blow up pic so you can see what's involved.

 

What you need is a 2 3/4" SS. I measured mine and it is domed.
