My parents always bought used cars. Because of that, I spent many hours outside in 30 degree weather holding the flashlight while my father repaired them. Since then I've always bought new.

The only used cars I've ever driven were my parent's '65 Chevy Belair, the '71 Belair Police Special given to me when my grandfather died, and an '79 Monte Carlo I bought after totalling my '80 Camaro. It was stolen two weeks later.

I've had good luck with new cars, always get my money's worth out of them, and have never been upside down when trading them in. I've owned my last new car for 9 years. I'll probably keep the HHR even longer unless Chevy comes out with a yellow SS model. Hint! Hint!

Yeah I had to pay stupid tax and buy a new one. Should have waited and saved $6000. For $6000 i could do ALOT of repairs.

I have never bought a used car. My first 3 cars were given to me by my parents. From then on it's been brand new every time. I'm not very mechanically inclined so I get nervous even thinking about a used car

I've had good luck with used cars. Out of all the cars I've owned to this point, only one has been brand new. I personally think buying new is over rated, but that's just me. And I don't mind turning a wrench from time to time if needed.

I would never buy a rental car. My HHr was purchased new. I have owned many great used cars, but would not recommend buying a rental. Not so much now because i'm older, but i remember going on vacation when i was in my 20's. Me and my friends would rent cars and, well, for the lack of better words, we would beat the hell out of them. We would do cruel and unusal things to these cars. Pull holeshots, slam on the e-brake, you name it. I know i am not alone when it comes to beating up rental cars back in the day. STAY AWAY FROM RENTALS. God knows that most of them have very hard miles on them

Well we bought ours used from the dealer, with only 10,000 mile on it or so... but we have been very happy with it so far....

I dunno...looks like your HHR was sitting on the lot for a few months before you bought it...lots of time for various test drivers or shop guys to make their mark....or if low miles on it(no test drives) how can you be sure that the truck driver who unloaded it .....didn't "unload" in it..hmmmmmmmmmmm....a DNA test is in order I believe!!
