I changed wax brands and wax type but it didn't make any difference. When I pass the back of my hand close to the surface, the littles hairs stand up.
I noticed a lot of people here on the west coast have a static strap hanging from their car.
Would be interesting to know if this would work on the HHR. As an easy test hang a small chain from the frame to the ground, go for a drive and see if you still get static or the hairs raise on your body.......

Wasnt the rubber static strips a big fad in the 50's? Along with curb scrappers, mud flaps with reflectors, and dummy teardrop spot lights on the window pillars.

Lee3333, your list of upcoming mods is fascinating!

I have a pressure washer but would not even consider using it to wash the car. Good ol' soap (intended for cars, not something like Dawn > too harsh!) and water, rinse, then dry (microfiber towells or chamois) if you don't want water spots. Sites like Meguiars have good advice, I think.
