Higher wattage bulbs?
Higher wattage bulbs?
Has anyone replaced their light bulbs with higher watts? I am thinking of installing 80/100w Hella Optilux H13/9008 bulbs. Is this okay? and would I need a wire harness for protection?
I wish they would crack down on it around here. I'm sick and tired of being blinded and having my life put in danger because of bright, and poorly aimed lights.
Higher wattage may draw too much current for the existing wiring, you could have melted wires. Why would you want it anyway? It generally translates to brighter lights and in my opinion the lights on an HHR are already too bright. I get flashed high beams a lot even though mine aren't on. Most people will not understand Wattage, Current draw, Lumens, etc. Not because they can't, it would simply require some effort which the vast majority will not do.

Suggest these bulbs; they will give you more light but not burn the wires:
