Hope for Saturn Dealers???

Irving equity firm has bold plan for Saturn auto brand

Amid the chaos of the car world, Saturn may shine again.

General Motors Corp., struggling to restructure, plans to cast off unprofitable Saturn, Saab, Hummer and Pontiac – providing a possible, and highly unusual, opportunity for a private equity firm in Irving.

Black Oak LLC wants to convert the 400 or so Saturn dealers in the U.S. to an independent network of retailers that would be free to sell any vehicle they want – much like a department store with multiple lines of clothes.

A Walmart type of auto sales. Maybe Irving will sell groceries there too.

Now that they lost the Cowboys Stadium, they have to think outside the box.

Maybe they will use left-over Tony Dorset jerseys as seat covers.

Donm't be ragging on the cowboys. Nor Irving as that little town has come along way. Born and raised in Dallas...

Sorry. I just figure that everyone has a sense of humour. Seeing that the only teams that I cheer for are in Toronto.

I just got a letter from GM regarding the closing out of Pontiac, which will be gone at the end of 2010.
