General HHR Discuss anything related to the Chevy HHR that doesnt seem to fit into the more specific categories below.

How has the black and sliver paint been holding up?

you are probably finding more black because it seems to be the color the most were made in. no numbers to back it up, but just general observation with victory red trailing behind it. For awhile I didn't even know the SS came in anything but black or red from what I had seen.

Good point. I didn't know the color build ratios.

I like the sunburst too but as my wife mentioned, it's a fad color and it's just not high on my list right now.

Red's very rarely show up around here but I am hoping I get some more choices over the next month as I buy. If someone dumps a black on me I will take it but I think I will hold out for a red or sliver.

Black is Very Sharp.. I'm just at a point in my life that I am still too fussy to have a dirty black ride. But don't want to be a slave to keeping it clean either..

Silver hides a lot of dirt..My last truck was a Beautiful Silver metallic....Looked pretty clean even when I knew it was filthy..

But I am partial to White..

I have a 2009 Silver HHR LT2. It is holding up quite well, but does 'scratch" easily.

I have a black HHR now & it is a pita to keep clean. But when it is clean, it looks very good!
I've had silver cars before & the panels fade at different levels & it looks like crap (MOPO)
I really wanted the dark blue or the sunburst orange but could not find a Panel in these colors when I was looking to buy
Dont get white. It looks like a milk truck Again, MOPO

I have a Silverstone Metallic, and I love it. It doesnt show dirt like a black or a darker color or even white. My first HHR was Summit White and I loved it when it was clean, lol, but after a day or so after a wash she looked filthy again. I usually try to wash mine every week or so when the weather is decent out, and in the summer time I try to put a fresh coat of wax on it once a month. I looked at a silver SS a few months ago when we took the wifes G6 in for service, and I thought it was bad ass!!!! Oh, I do have the typical stone chips hear and there on the hood, but as far as the quality of the paint, I am very pleased with it so far(have had it for almost a year now).

I'm with you on the white SS....not sure why the General didn't do a white SS. Not a hot enough color, too borin'? I found out after owning two black rides..... it's a b!tch to keep'em clean and shiny...the way a black one should be!

Im in OC/SoCal and have no problem keeping my baby clean.

(In this pic, the car was dusty.)

I wash it once a month with water, it gets clay/barred/waxed about every 3 months. The rest of the time it is detailed about once a week, with quick wipe downs when needed. My color of choice was always IBM -- but have no regrets about getting my black beauty.

Sure it is a little more work than another color, but an HHR in black is awesome. Go for it!

My silver 2007 still looks like it did when I bought it three years ago. No fading, no peeling, but it is only three years old.
