I'm thinking that we will go 350-400 with Gomez. If I drive (I wk downtown in Chi, park on the northside by my son's school which is about 20-25 miles away from hm) He will last about 4 days.

If my hubby drives then he last about 6. Because Gas is at 3.00/gal, it now costs $40 to fill him up. WTF!! Ah well, I still love my Gomez, he's worth every penny.

After a week of ownership and two tanks later, it looks to be between 360-400 miles per tank. It could potentially get better if I would change my driving habits (my right foot seems to think we're still in a 'Stang ).

As others have stated, when the low fuel warning comes on, it really is low It took 16.2 gallons at that fillup....

On the way back to the airport to drop it off I had to gas up. 232 miles on this tank and I put in about 7 1/2 gallons...my math came out to 30.93 mpg...DIC said 29.2 or something close to that so a nice improvement over the first tank....had not even hit half a tank yet

420 - 430 is the most - had to put a hair over 15 gals.
I average about 27.8 mpg. (so it says)
I drive 50 miles a day mostly highway. (25 miles ea way to work)
I probably average 70-80 mph on I-95/ 495.

My 2006 HHR seems to be way lower than what everyone else is saying. I filled it up for the first time today (just bought it last week) and the dashboard message showed 213 miles until i needed fuel. This is with a fresh fill up. Even after driving it was still around 210. Is something wrong? If so, how would I fix it?

Don't judge it on one tank - run it for a month or so - 3-4 tanks before getting worried. Don't expect miracles if all you do is city driving. Reset the mileage as well as the average speed on the DIC and monitor for a month or so.

I've had my 09 LS for about a month, and I had been filling up weekly. This time I am going two weeks between, so I will be just about empty. Looks like I'll be very close to 400 miles on this tank, almost all city driving.

Not a good practice to run them to "empty". Fuel in the gas tank keeps the electric fuel pump submerged and cools it. Whenever the fuel level is so low that the pump is not submerged, higher temps can build in the pump and in effect shorten the pumps life.

405 miles was the best I've gotten from my car. I normally go from 360-380 miles.

Oh, it's not like I'm running it empty. I'll be at about 1/8 tank by the time I fill up tomorrow. I usually don't let it go that low for the same reason you mentioned. I wanted to see if I could actually drive two weeks (typical weeks) between fill ups. This would seem to be the first car I have owned in which I can do this!
