I paid $1.979 this morning. It's been a long time since the last time I paid below $2.00 per gallon.

 

In Simi Valley, CA regular is $2.52 a gallon. CA. GAS TAX! Sucks

 

It's not only your state gas tax, it's the scalping that's going on.

Look at the State Gas Tax Map posted above. Your state is 30 cents MORE than my state, AZ, and after deducting that cost your gas is still 30+ cents higher than we are paying.

I'm in California a lot. As a result I purchase gas frequently. It has always been just around 30-40 cents difference. Something is wrong now if that has escalated to 60-70 cents.

 

As of January 1st, there is a new gas tax going into effect. The problem is that no one quite knows how much it will be. Really. Estimates range from 10 cents per gallon up to 70 cents per gallon. That wipes out much of the savings - again! I predict there will be many unhappy Californians soon.

$1.93/gal. for regular at the local Mapco. So finally under $2/gal. lol, but since the MX-5 takes premium I still ended up paying $2.30/gal. for that. Would've been $2.33/gal. but I get 3 cents off per gallon with my Mapco rewards card.
