Thumbs up I Love My New HHR!

For the first time in my life I have "copy catted" my father-in-law. When visiting him in Williamsburg, Virginia in July he let me drive his 2006 HHR! I fell in love with it! So two weeks ago I bought one of my own! His is black and mine is "sandstone" but I would call it more a metallic gold, 2 LT with 2.4L engine, roof rack, running boards, etc. The only two things I don't like about it are the ridiculous arm rests and the strange place for the window controls. Otherwise it is a great little retro ride. I learned to drive in my uncle's wheat fields in his old orange chevy pickup and my HHR's front in styling is very similar. So this is turning out to be the first car I have had in my adult life that I just bought for fun! Still have the great Ford Expedition for pulling the travel trailor and my wife still has the Grand Marquis for her car.

I have read some reviews saying that the HHR doesn't have any zip and handles poorly. Not true with mine! But I did get the 2.4L motor.

Looking forward to being involved with a car group....never been involved before!

Wes

Welcome; Yes the 1st ride will do it! The arm rest are the pits, The window switch you will get use to them. Two small things in a great little car.

I really don't mind where the window switches are. The cup holders are a tad far back though. Otherwise I like the ergonomics.
