How do you know the "small dent" isn't repairable?

What qualifies as a "large" dent?

Find a guy who collects scrap metal to make a living, check craigslist for people who will come and pick it up. It just is not profitable to take one piece of metal to the recycling yard.

Now that I see it, I agree it needs to be replaced. Save the old one and use it to learn metal repair. If the bumper cover is also being replaced, use the old one to learn plastic repair. Your local community college probably has night auto body classes.
