I joined USAA in 1969 and left when their rates got very high for me, without making claims.

Just got my Insurance Bill after buying an SS last week. Yes, it went up, a lot but then I traded a 12 year old firebird so I don't know... What I do know is that driving the SS is a hoot, driving the 1LT was a boor. Get the SS. Still gets the mileage but 5x more fun to drive.

I still enjoy driving, too! I currently drive a Ram SRT10 with 500 h.p., 6 speed manual and Hurst shifter. Momma has one too but has become shiftless so we got her the cheap HHR with automatic. Somewhere down the road an HHR SS might make sense but I will settle for 525 ft/lbs of torque meanwhile.... Hopefully, they will put a 6 speed into the SS before I get one. Even a 6 speed automatic would work well. Years ago, I promised myself to never get another automatic with only four gears but the price made me do it. Momma is happy.

I have USAA and for the service I get with them the rates are excellent. My SS is a 17, my Charger SXT is a 17, Harley is a 9 and my wifes Montero is a 19?

Hmmm. I don't know what my insurance rating is. However, I picked up a policy through GEICO and they didn't differentiate between a base HHR and my SS. I am not complaininig...

Maybe it's because the HHR has a better crash rating, although I don't know that to be true, but just comparing the two vehicles with my eyes I would think it does.
