Intro subaru guy interested in SS

Hi my name is Bunmi ( pronounced boomee) Interested in the SS model for the future ( maybe in a year or so) I got 80 thousand miles on my 04 subaru Forester xt turbo and that car is a hoot ( after i lowerd it a bit ) seriously considering a HHR SS as my replacement mainly due to power. my fxt is a little faster than the SS but is also better on gas wondering how it would compare

2004 forester xt hp 210 ( thats what subaru says but really it has 235HP and 230 pounds of tourque) 0-60 in 5.6

This is the place to learn all about the HHR if you plan on buying one. You sure will get alot more attention in an HHR than a Subaru, that's for sure!

welcome! i was a owner of a 05 legacy gt wagon (2.5 turbo, 250 hp) the fuel economy on the SS HHR will definatly be better, subarus just arent that great on fuel...power wise, they both feel like totally diferent vehicles...but the HHR has a bit more room than the forester, which is a benefit to me...i dont own a turbo hhr, but i did drive them, and also the solstice GXP with alittle tunning the 2.0t in the hhr ,solstice,sky ,and cobalt are gona give the subies a run for the money...well, if they can hook up! the subaru has them there!

I thought Subarus are supposed to go like a zillion billion five hundred thousand miles... why is 80,000 bad?

Get the SS, unless you need the AWD.

HHR SS for sure

UNless you have to have the automatic for some reason, gret the 5 speed and the limited slip differential (LSD) you will be glad you did. I can't see how it gets any traction at full throttle without it. There will probably be some new options by then, so pick yours out and enjoy.
