Thanks for the comments, everyone. We had a funnel cloud pass over our area but it never touched down near me. We came out pretty good considering. We mostly had heavy rain and wind and bad hail storm when the funnel cloud passed over. It actually knocked off some of my gutter guards on the house. My yard was completely covered with marble sized hail and it sounded like it was going to knock the windows out of the house when it was hitting. Still, I came out lucky compared to many just North of me.
This probably sounds crazy but I had my family in the storm sheter while I was in the garage cleaning the bugs off of my HHR. Let me tell you this though, the storm shelter is only 10 feet from the HHR and I have a TV in the shelter and the garage so I can moniter the conditions. I figured I might as well take advantage of the down time.

Clean bugs off your HHR, huh? Well, that's one way to make use of your time. Seriously, I'm glad you and your family came out unscaved. :twothumbs

glad you & the family are safe, and the HHR has no bugs, lol! It's not even started here in FLA yet, but this year they claim we are in for a ride, so we shall see.

They claim it is not supposed to be as bad as last year.

We do get a lot of tornados in North Alabama and a lot of rain from the remnants of the hurricanes but I am very glad I don't live on the gulf coast. I wouldn't want to have to deal with the hurricanes as the blow in off of the water. I have been hearing it is going to a very active hurricane season, also.

Last I heard, it was still under 20 named storms.
