Just washed my ride

Well as the title says, I just washed my HHR. During the drying phase I noticed that there is a huge imperfection under the right headlight and on the right fender and there are fish eyes in the paint on the right fender. It looks like they are buffing burns in the clearcoat. I'm not happy. Going to take it to my guy tomorrow and see what he can do for me, my guess is they will try and buff it out but the fish eye is too bad for that so they are going to have to repaint the right fender. 700 miles and already getting paint You know what I might do...... some ghost flames on the front end would be killer We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Good luck with that! I too question the paint quality/durability on these cars.
Mine was more along the lines of chips but you can read here: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/problems-service-repairs-42/poor-paint-5925/

I may be able to get something done though as my guy is a friend of the family. the imperfection looks like buffing burn so obviously someone tried "fixing" the problem and screwed it up worse.

MY dad has been a body and fender repair man for 30 years, he took a look at it and said yes it looked like someone tried buffing it out and messed up the clearcoat, BUT its easily fixable by us. When it gets warmer we'll buff it out ourselves so alls well i guess... I'm still not happy though.

Chris, I had my rockers painted due to not having running boards and after a quick run to Chicago the chips were worse than when I took it in...so I am painting it myself when I do the rest of my black work...thank goodness for having been a bodyman all of my life...but considering that this is the only real complaint that I have had in a year I am a happy camper...

Chris, I accidentally scratched the clear coat on one of my doors. I found a product that fills in those scratches and makes them disappear. It really worked. I'm not certain how often I'll need to use it but it was a short term solution.

Update, I went to pick up my all season floormats today and my buddy came out to chek on my car. I pointed out the flaw in the paint and he said they can take care of it no problem. When I bring it in for my 3k Oil change they are going to reshoot my right fender
