If you buy an LS model, you will not have controls for the radio on the steering wheel.'

Yes they make a harness to were you retain all functions with an aftermarket radio. Also if you can always add the steering wheel radio controls later if yours doesnt come with it already.

I did the steering wheel swap, I would recommend it. Not too difficult, but I got the wheel for free, I think it goes for around $100 used.

I ended up getting a 2010 Silver LS 5 speed today.

there was a used 08 black SS 5 speed with 12k miles, that i probably could have gotten for the same price if not a tad lower, but i wanted silver and i couldnt find a silver SS anywhere (couldnt afford a new SS right now) so i settled for the LS. im happy with it. i would have gotten in more trouble with the SS anyways lol

With the 5spd even the 2.2 has decent pep, just keep the revs above 3500.

yea, all the people saying it feels underpowered, i dont think so in the least bit. i mean its no V8, but for what it is, it does the job. i got up to 80mph on the way to work on the interstate without a problem.

My girlfriend just bought a Dodge Caliber, similar size to the HHR but only a 2.0L with a CVT transmission.
Gotta really gun that sucker just trying to get up my driveway, dont think Id want to try merging onto the highway.
