Great photos, thank you. And Sleeper, also for the confirmation of tilt trailer...do those cost more - I like the idea. Solman, you have the makings of such a beautiful Christmas card there with that photo..love it! Black Knight, the idea of covering the hitch seems great - gotta put something there; otherwise, it looks like a lil' anus.

Come on, someone - show me that you can pull a trailer long enough to hold an 80" bike next to a trike. I wonder if 4' width would do it.

And how do you make them stand up? Do I need some kind of rails? Or just anchor his to my trike (but not scratch them up? )

Instead of mounting wood to the 4ft trailer, you could use trays from a roof rack.

You would have to get something like the attached link (or smaller), add your own floor & sides with tie down anchors for the bikes, then buy a cheap set of the second link to make your own portable ramps. Otherwise your cost just to haul your bikes would skyrocket if you bought an already customized trailer, then were would you keep it. At least the attached is fold-able to a point and your money isn't wasted on something you would use only once & a while.

I mow lawns on the side for extra money and one of the neighborhoods I go to has a guy with an HHR that has a trailer the same size as the attached but premade heavy duty full size tires, etc, because he has his ride on mower on it as well as all his other landscaping stuff. I had spoke to him prior (as I wanted to get the attached) and he has had no issues. He is on his 2nd HHR though because he had almost 180,000 on the first, and on his 2010 he is using now he has 96,000 (I looked). He also keeps the HHR on while he is working-said something about keeping the tranny at a constant temperature and I forgot to ask if he added a tranny cooler. Obviously with a light weight utility trailer you wouldn't need that just to haul bikes.

OH MY GOSH that is so cool!! We have lots of Harbor Freights around here... Finally I can visualize this thing.

Thank you so much. And the size looks perfect. We'll go and look at them during Dorian's down time at Thanksgiving.

I use a Harbor Frght fold away trailer to haul a 800# Dresser Harley around..never had a problem with trailer or HHR..though you have to add your own deck and side boards..

hitches for bike racks and deer racks

I bought a regular hitch assy. like many had showed however I also bought a 2 1/2" x 1' section 12" long cut to fit the smaller tube.Removed the smaller tube and welded the bigger tube on with loops for safety chains.I have a 98'
25oo and already had the attatchments and didn't want to buy a second so this worked for me makes a great keg hauler too. during deer season you keep the deer mess out of the car. I've had no trouble with height I brought a bear back in cools packed in ice. The longest time was laying out the bigger tube and butting off the smalled tube and keep it all straight.I didn't build it to haul a triaxle of firewood.Just my bike and deer cart.

Holy moly, a real outdoorsman! I can't even imagine being in the woods off a road, not knowing where I am, where the bears are, or what to do with a gun anyway. I think it's awesome though - I know nothing about welding either, except that it holds metal to metal and is just another one of those skills I'll never have.

However, I can teach you piano or violin...

I just saw the fold-away trailer in the ads this weekend and it really looks perfect!! Thanks for that - if you can haul a Harley, that's good enough for me. My husband can add the deck and side boards...he's a little more countryfied.
