Lowering Kits

I want to lower my 2006 HHR and there are a lot of kits available. Is there one or two kits to stay away from? I am thinking about going to 18 inch tires and wheels, will lowering make the rear rub with this setup.

A response I got from Jeff at Truckshop can answer your question on 18's, lowering, and rubbing:

That 235/40/18 is just about as close to stock diameter you can get. I usually put a 225/40/18 on a slammed HHR, or if you are stock height or dropped an inch or so you can roll on a 225/45/18 for a bit more sidewall. So it depends on how your suspension is going to be set.

The 235/40/18 is 25.4 overall, 225/40/18 is 25, and the 225/45/18 is 26 overall diameter. Stock 16 inch tire is 25.3 and the stock 17 inch is 25.5.... so in all cases speedo difference would only be 2-3% maximum.
