I'm approaching 98K on my '06. It still runs like a champ.

I've had a few cars turn 250,000 miles for me. The first was a '59 Ford Fairlane.

I bought it with 125,000 miles already on the clock so that kinda doesn't count I guess because I did not put all the miles on it myself.

I managed to get just over 300,000 miles on my '65 Fairlane but I did have to rebuild the engine and replace the bearings in the output shaft and the extension tube on the transmission. Of course it spent some time upside down in a swamp before I actually took possession of it.

When we bought the HHR there were already 153,000 or so on the clock so I truly hope to see 200,000 or more before it ends.

I washed the car yesterday and it came out very good.

There have been some small things to fix like everyone else has had to contend with but really some of those things could have been blown off and the car would still be going fine.

There was one unexpected expense though. I had to buy a torque wrench when we went to Tennessee that last time because I needed to replace the turn signal bulb which meant I had to take the drivers side wheel off and I like to torque my wheels. I already had a torque wrench but it was 1000 miles away and my brother in law only had a cute little metric one he uses on his Honda scooters.

Yes I do know real men can get their arm between the fender and the wheel well and replace the light bulbs but I'm a wimp.

Thanks everyone for all the congrats! So far the HHR has performed very well with very little trouble. I am still on the origional rear brakes.

tim75901 I usually put in the Supertech full synthetic oil if I change it myself. When I take it somewhere to get it changed I just use the flavor of the day (Whatever the use). I have been going by the oil monitor and usually change it when it falls between 30 and 35 percent which is usually around 10,000 to 11,000 miles.

Yours is just a baby. There should be plenty of life left. I think most new cars can easily go 200K.

Congratulations. However this doesn't surprise me. As long as one keeps up with regular maintenance, I believe that any modern engine will easily go to 300k and up. The car itself will fall apart around you long before the engine dies.

It is the 2.2 LS. I even got the 5 speed without very many options. I may hold the record for an 09 model, but Donbrew has about the same mileage on his 08 (i think).

It may not be the record for an SS, but I'm at 93k miles on my '08 w/manual trans - and still running with the original clutch. It's surprisingly still holding tight, and just delivered 29.5 mpg on a recent road trip that was just over 500 (practically) all highway miles in length.

Aside from a flaky window switch assembly in the driver's side door, and both key fobs dying (the battery contacts) , it's been a very reliable ride.

Congrats on the reliability of your SS.
