Mirror Upgrade?

Just bought an '09 1LT.
It has the stock rear view mirror (with Onstar) and I would like to upgrade it with one that has auto-dim and compass. Does anyone know if an '07 or '08 mirror will fit and be fully function (including the lights)?
Thanks in advance!

I thought that was standard on the mirrors with onstar, my 08 LS had it, but it should work.

I have the Onstar/Compass/Dimming mirror and wish there was one half the size. I always have to look around it. I have been tempted to switch it to a manual mirror. I don't use Onstar and I can flip the manual mirror when necessary. I can like without the compass and use the GPS.

Im with you on the size thing its way to big for that small of a windshield. As far as the auto dimming I understand wanting that its cool to have. Never gave it much thought until this car and find my self confused for minute the first time im driving another car at night with out, Ive come way use to use to it, and I also have a gps in the car at all times so the compass isnt a big deal either.

auto dim

If you tint your windows it eliminates the need for auto dim mirror but it increases the need for a ticket from barney fife, i have 6% tint on the front two doors and 1% on the rest of the car by far the best choice i have ever made. after seven months of owning it..our friendly state trooper issues a 98 dollar ticket for the front and a 98 dollar ticket for the rear..thanks officer friendly, your work is needed to keep every one safe.

I agree about the size issue... it is way too big with all the Onstar buttons, which I never use and will not be paying for when the freebie service expires. I do really like the auto-dimming function.

What regular mirror can be used in place of the On Star one? I'm not happy with the size also.

mirror size/location

For me, it's not the size so much as the location. Moved up to the top of the windshield would be so much better.

Check autozone. They have mirrors and different types. Or better yet. EBAY it.
