Mods?
Just picked up a 2011 HHR. 2.2L. Is there anything i can do to this thing? Other than a turbo or an aftermarket exhaust.
Idc about fuel efficiency or anything. Just want a decent sound and a bit more speed. What set-ups do you guys got?

For my 2.2 in my 2007 LS , I installed a mandrel bent down pipe with high flow catalytic convert and a 2 1/4 cat back Walker exhaust, I replaced the OEM air filter element with a better breathing K&N drop in air filter. A little more power, better fuel economy and no annoying drone from an aftermarket cheap muffler

Not a lot you can do. Most of the possible mods are not really worth it to go slightly less slow. When it develops exhaust leaks, preserve the original downpipe/cat if you can, but go for the longer resonator and bigger 2.25" pipes for the 2.4 liter (which will bolt right up to the stock downpipe/cat) and a good free-flowing quiet muffler. Loud is just silly with that car.
It was a great car from the factory. Good handling and economy. Better tires and suspension mods to you taste I can heartily recommend.

Custom wheels and baby moons , 2” lowering springs and cut and buff the paint works
A dash of colour on the grille
Polished 18” Cobalt SS rims
An aftermarket grille in body colour also help with the personalized look

It’s cool people on this forum are frank and honest. I love my HHR but speed ain’t what these cars are about, excluding the SS. Best performance mods are probably suspension related. The KYB shocks/struts and the ZZP rear bar does wonders for the handling and can give the car a much sporty feel. Other than that, appearance and sounds is pretty much it.

Yeah, I keep my panel pretty much stock. I swapped in the SS rear axle to get rear discs, and some 17" torq thrust wheels for the vintage hot rod look. I ain't fast and furious no more, just fat and furry-a$$ed
