I have a 2006 2.4L auto, I have noticed that my mpg is slowley creeping up from 25 mpg, to now 26.3. What kind of average MPG should I expect from this engine w/auto trans?

 

Sounds about right. A little better mileage during the warmer months with the use of "summer blend" gasoline.
Also, mileage will vary based on your driving habits and type of driving.
Ex. city only, highway only,or mixture of both.

 

Frankly, MPG is greatly dependent on the "style", speed and type of driving you do. But, on previous posts some have stated as low as 20 MPG/city to as much as 35 MPG/highway (70 MPH).

I personally see about 25-26 MPG in a mix of 40/highway and 60/city.

 

I have a 2009 MT 2.4L. I get around 25-26. It's only been 3 fillups.

 

After 116,000+ miles on my 2.4 auto 2006, I have averaged 30.3 mpg. I have a light foot on the gas pedal and cruise control when ever possible on the highways.
