Goose, yes, that is exactly the same rebate plan that I will be elgible for here in my area. It is the same plan weather you order or take out of stock, according to my salesman. Plus, I am elgible for supplier discount which sweetens up the deal even more. If my HHR comes in as scheduled (5-18-07) we are gona wait until 05-23-07 to see if the new rebate plan is better than the one that is out now. I'm hoping it might be better than the 1500/500 plan because it is getting close to the end of the 2007 model run.

So I could order a silver or Sunburst Orange with just boards and fogs plus auto? In other words exactly what I want? Sorry to sound naive, never have looked into it before

You sure can. If you want the leather you'll have to get the 1LT trim level, but the running boards, fogs, and auto are all separate options. If you go to the HHR web site you can build one up there and print it off to take to the dealer.

Scheduled delivery date is (5-18-07) That's 6 weeks from ordering to delivery.
I was expecting it to take the full 9 weeks. But, earlier is better.
Wife and I decided to take a ride this evening to check-out my dealers delivery lot to see if our HHR had arrived. I also left my salesman a voice mail earlier in the day asking him to give me an update on actual build date.
On our way to the lot I casually said "wouldn't that be funny if the car was in", she said no way, you still have a week to go.
Well guess what, as we were just starting to pull out of the lot, I looked to my left, and there was one just like the one we ordered. I got out and verified all the options and price. Matched right up to my options. It also had a sold tag on the windshield.
I'm convinced it's ours.
Now we will wait and see how long it takes my salesman to get back to me.

Congrats on the new wheels being delivered.......I have a question on the rebates and incentives though...I have asked 3 or 4 dealers and without fault they have said that you will get whatever rebate or incentive that is in place whenever the car is DELIVERED not when you make the buy which to me makes no sense at all...how do you buy a car not knowing how much is is gonna cost after rebates? Or do you just leave a small deposit and then work out the numbers when the car come in? Can you walk if you don't like the deal or are you obligated to buy the car once ordered?

Need some clarification please

Goose....

Look at it this way. Whatever the buy order says, COULD be the highest price you pay. Incentives, rebates, etc. fall into place at the time of signing the final paper work for delivery to you.

Note however, some dealers can "stretch" this a little.

I hear what you are saying Snoop but it sort of goes against what bigallis1 is saying he was told.

t is the same plan weather you order or take out of stock, according to my salesman.

My issue is the military incentive is 1000 this month after no military even being available for the HHR in the recent past....that will play huge in my buying factor

One dealer put it this way...sounds like he doesn't want to take an order to me:

"Here's the question. Does that extra rebate get me a vehicle that I want even with a little extra equipment. Does it get it for me when I KNOW what the incentives are rather than running a gamble on what they "might" be later?"

Makes sense I guess depending how you look at it
