Are you sure there isn't steel reinforcements inside the fiberglass. I don't think Chevy would have put them on without reinforcing them in some way.

that is what my friend in the parts department told me, and the only thing that holds them on are little black brackets.....I seen them in the box and kinda played with them before they were put on. Other than that I know nothing, LOL!

Running Boards

The running boards give the HHR some added looks but they have no function. I really doubt if anyone will ever step on them to enter the vehicle. Also they are a great snow catcher if you live in a snow area.
Up in Montana its been snowing every day this week and it seems the snow willl build up about 6 inches on the running boards. One thing I also found before we got the snow, when your washing your car, you've go to get down on your hands and knees and wash below the running boards. Looking from above it looks like you've washed you car, but looking at it from the side a few feet away, whew! you can say I sure didn't wash the bottom did I?

Happy motoring.... Mr. B.

reason enough for any father IMO

i understand the hhr's heritage, but i just do not like them. i guess its more of a functionality thing to me, plus i want to put a ground effects kit on later on, when a decent one comes out, so why pay for something i plan on taking off

It looks good Teknobunie. I named my car "Phil" in memory of my dad who recently passed.

Thats the beauty of customizing. I think Chevy did a great job with the design so I probably wont change much. Maybe a panel kit, cowl hood, grill, or dual exhaust bumper when they come out. Hell I never thought I would see a vehicle that would make me want to give up my Mustang and go back to GM.

I got mine as a dealer installed factory option for $445. They are a GM accessory and can be order through any GM parts dealer or your local dealership. The prices are going to vary from place to place. They come colored from the factory so they just need to be installed. teknobunie bought hers after but I dont remeber what she paid off hand. She can better answer that question.
