We don't have that much salt in Florida. I still have the original exhaust system on my 8-year-old van. It probably would have been replaced twice if I lived in Illinois.

It's amazing to see the number of vintage, unmodified cars down here with NO RUST on them. I'll take the sea air any day!

What do you think blows in from the ocean? It's not exactly fresh water.

My choice of protectant is Maguires NXT.
I understand there is salt from the ocean, but it can't possibly be as damaging to your vechicle as the road salt they put down here in Illinois...

My remote start doesnt work what the car was sitting all night...any ideas
I'm taking it in for running boards anyways but i just wanted some insight

You did push the lock button first, right?
I only ask this because this was something I had to remember when I first got my HHR...

Yes i did...the lights flash like its gonna start but then it just sits there

Deffinately try to get the leather. The fabric on my seats is very fragile.
Love the remote start with automatic myself.

Hey Salt guys....My cousin from Newyork just can't believe the cars he sees down here in GA. HE says, "Man that car must be 20 yrs old with no rust."
Thats pretty typical here. Keep the mechanicals right and you can drive em forever....Now how to stop those morons in te parkinglot from dinging them.
