i like the name KC also... very cutteee :)
The father weas around 55 pounds and mother was 45 pounds. The Grandfather was a whopping 72 pounds!!! He was not fat and I had never seen a Aussie so big. Man was he tall. She said he was one of the largest and it was rare.

We gave $300. We got the 9 toe discount. He had one of his toes nipped off by mom when he was born. It does not effect him and you would never notice unless you clipping nails.

They were getting $500 for the males and $700 for the females.

We did not choose him because of the discount but because he was the one in the litter that came to us the most. He loved playing with my son. The others just wanted to fight each other.

We came up with the name KC since my Son wanted to name him after the most recent Red Power Ranger "Casey". I wanted AJ so we comprimised.

We got full papers with him so he is ok to breed but not show since a toe is missing. we just want him for a pet.

I will see if I can get a present picture posted later. He is so big now and getting his regular fur in.

He helped wash the SS tonight. He wants to catch the water and lick the bumpers. We are working to stop the bumper licking.

Have you tried a flash light with your dog. KC chases the light on the floor like crazy.

Dannnggg big boy.

Yeah we paid 550 for Bentley... BUT that's pretty cheap for a toy/mini aussie... he was the last one left.. He was about an hour and a half away, so we went and saw him, and decided to get him on the spot. It's funny though, b/c he is like my shadow and follows me every where.. even when paul calls him

cute name though. younger kids always have the best names for pets. And we might stud him out.. Idunno yet though. I wanna try and breed them so more are available for people to get since the mini's are a "new breed" ..

We've only had him 24 hours now, so i'll have to try the flashlight thing. He is a shyer puppy. LIkes to sit in your lap. Sweet heart. ... As paul would say he is "cute" haha

I also am "Owned" by a Mini Black Tri Female Aussie. She is registered both AKC and NSDR. The minis have been around for some time and mine was $800.00. Wouldn't trade her for anything. Her name is Mz. Mattie Carpenter. I was there when she was born and helped clean her up, she will be 6 years old in April and we have only been separated 12 days since her birth. One night when she was spayed and the other days I was in the hospital. She has some Obedience training and her CGC. I would buy another on in a heart beat. Some of these dogs sell for 2000.00 and up, depending on their registry and color. Have you ever seen the Toy Aussies? My dream is a blue Merle female, with blue eyes. What registry is your dog?

I could be wrong.. but you cant register the mini aussie with AKC, the miniature australian shepherd isnt a full breed yet with the AKC .. dont know 100% but ya..

he will be NSDR i believe. we are sending in his papers soon..
just named him today, so got to get em mailed off.

Bentley is going to be a Toy Aussie.. we call him a mini cause there isnt a real "toy" breed of them, but his mom was only 11'' tall.. a mini is 13-17'' ..
he should be 11-13'' when full grown. so he will technically be a "toy" ..

Paul toy is considered 14 inches and under.
Mini is considered 13-18
( i know the 13 and 14 doesn't add up, but that's what i've read)
Bentley will be determined when he is full grown. He wil prob be a large toy small mini.(based on what the parents are)

http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/miniatur...anshepherd.htm

^^if you scroll down toward the bottom it shows all the recognition that they can have. there is no AKC because they have been around long enough.
Regular size Aussie's didn't even get considered to be AKC until 93... but they were in ACSA (in 1957) until they protested it and got accepted into AKC in 93..

No one even started to "create" a Mini/Toy until 1968 ..
There is alot of information to be found.. But no where on AKC have I found to be able to register Mini's... YES they can be sold for quite a bit in the their own rights... I looked into paying 1300 for one, but i decided I don't need to breed just yet, and would rather just have a best friend.

And some people breed incorrectly like doing merle to merle (which can cause lethal whites) and some breed for eye color, and not just one the "proper" disposition and bone structure that comes with an aussie.. ALOT of dogs are overpriced but eh, it's the dog world.

I'm not trying to be mean or nothing. :) I just like reading about animals and sharing and educating others :)

HAPPY NEW YEARRR btw
