Hmmm, guess they're not so exciting after all. I would think the AURA is going to be the same hue as it is a GM color. The red and blue will probably differ a bit as GM hues as well. The Techno Grey in the Saturn pix seems a lighter shade of gray thatn the Drk Silver Metallic...IMHO looks the best of the bunch to my eyes based on your visual aids.

You know tonepad....

You're probably closer to the truth than you think.

Your above statement started me thinking about the similarity of color names. The Aura Met. Grey is probably accurate. GM can reduce costs by sharing the expense between the platforms....instead of each having their own shade of grey.

But, the competitive vehicle colors, used as samples.... probably in the right direction but not real accurate. For example, think white...then look on the color charts for a Ford white, a Lincoln white, a Chev white, a Cadillac white. Each one has their own identity and separate number. They're even different with the same manufacturer but different on models or makes.

probably just need to wait and see from a GM post, for the actual real color.

Probably will be close, but unless it's a GM color, it will look different.

NO DOUBT!!!

GOD I WOULD LOVE THAT!!!

My opinion... if Chevy wants to make this car a true RETRO looking little hotrod that need some more RETRO COLORS!!! I think the older crowd would like it as well as the younger gen.

I have no idea who is making the decisions about automobile colors but they really need to start releasing some cool retro colors of the 1950's or Muscle Car colors of the late 60's...

How about a factory two tone like the old 50's Chevy or some of those wild Plum Crazy Purple or Bright Orange or that Corvette Yellow...

Even just one new release bright wild color a year would satisfy me.

I'd like to see Chevy have that Bright Yellow, and maybe even a Bright Lime Green for the HHRs! Something like on the 70/72 Barracudas. I think both would be "Stand Out" colors.
I'm also guessing from what I've seen here that Chevy is changing the name of the Sandstone Metallic to "Cashmere" Metallic??

74U - Victory Red
Just got some revised 2008 color info for the HHR. Techno Gray is being called Dark Gray met. Merlot Jewel is being called Cardinal Red met. Mystique Blue Flash met will be Blue Flash met. Victory Red will also be added. Gone are Dark Silver, Sport Red, Golden Teal and Majestic Amethyst.
Chevy also lists OnStar as standard on all HHR's for 2008.
Running Boards will be standard only on the 2LT.
2 new wheels, both 16", custom spoke, painted sterling silver and chrome aluminum (which look like the ones on last years Spring Edition).
Listed under new features, solid rear quarter, not available at start of production (sounds like a cross between the regular version and the panel).
