The new Mrs. 843de mobile...
Somehow I knew you'd volunteer to babysit that L-36 sleeper, but it came as a spare with the SS so I can't let it get away. My car's first owner isn't eating anymore so its just a matter of time, they're keeping him comfortable and that's all you really can do at this point. He bought that L-36 crate motor when he bought the car as a "just in case", its still crated up just as it came from the factory, I think keeping his old SS in better than perfect shape and slotting that engine in a nicely built rod is the best tribute I can offer.
babysit it ? I was gonna plant it in something.. Make it grow, I mean GO..
Doing up a proper Rod with it would be a Very fitting tribute..
I would have trouble opening the 'crate', since I love nos parts so much..
Question: since you won't give it to me (But I understand).... Have you been "misting the cylinders" or something similar for long term storage ?

GM supposedly coated the cylinders with a thick shipping lube and there is plug in the intake and plugs in the exhaust ports, so its probably pretty good. But its 44 years old so when and if I eventually use it, I'll carefully tear it down and check the cylinders for corrosion and then free it up very gently.
P.S. just to make your lady drool, I know a fellow up in NY that has a 1962 413CID Max Wedge Chrysler crate motor that's never been touched, ever.

I am very happy for you and for Michelle.
Now I am in Kazan. A serious mission, a lot of work and I rarely can afford to be distracted.
But now I'm online and I see good news. Great car.
If I correctly translate your first post - this car myself found Michelle.
This is a very good sign - a positive destiny. He would bring her joy.

That makes sense..
I generally mist/fog the cylinders on motors I know will sit thru winter. I also use storage (desicant) plugs in spark-plug holes.
Except for my old Flathead, it still uses 18mm spark plugs, I have to whip up some adapters..So for now, I just mist/fog it heavily.
Any motors that I know will sit long term I OD 'em on assembly lube..

Never touched... Drool......
It doesn't get any cooler than that, or your crate L-36......My OL used to have a wicked '69 Vette with a 427 w/ trips on it..
She used to show it, & did quite well.. Added a Mako fr end to it, & other glass mods..
So shes' no stranger to Bow-Ties either... LOL
Well Michelle had to be up and out the door early this morning to make a 9am appointment in SC, but she did leave this little note on my computer.
"Good morning sleepyhead, ordered a Magnaflow exhaust for the Spousemobile, put it on your card, love you....M"
She's quick, I've never ordered an exhaust at 7am, heck at 7am I'm either asleep or I've just sneezed myself awake if its allergy season. I wonder what else she does with the AmEx while I'm zonked out?
