Yeah it's been really cold around here the past couple days. Here in Duluth/Superior area, it dropped down to -25 overnight I think. We have Wind Chill Warnings and "Extreme Cold" warnings.

"life threatening cold"

Sounds like they are trying to blow things way out of proportion like they do in California....

Got back to NC just in time for a forecast low of +8 tonight, I'm afraid our heat pump just doesn't like it below 20. But on the other hand I do have a very sexy and toasty wife to cuddle up with, plus three cats who pile on to too.

And I was b!tching about it being 22 this morning!!! lol. For my area, it's been a very cold winter so far. We've already seen 2 significant snow falls (and we're one of those towns that basically has to shut down with any kind of accumulation b/c there's no such thing as winter road crews/equipment here). Usually the snow is here one day, then melted off the next. We still had snow/ice on the roads around here for over a week, which is crazy unheard of. My HHR was solidly stuck in my driveway (46k miles on the stock tires, I didn't really try too hard to get it out), and stayed there for about 4 days, which forced me to drive my 77 Dodge M880 to work (at 11mpg's on a 65 mile commute 1-way). Anyway, the moral of this story.... Where's all this Global warming I've been hearing about. Not to mention, it was a pretty mild Summer here last year too..

It's twelve her currently. We have a "Code Blue" in Buffalo for homeless shelters and last night I volunteered. Nothing glamorous, just got to make a few hundred sandwiches. It snowed like crazy and I had a blast driving home...in the Jeep. Gonna be worse tonight.
