Newbie here, '08 LT
Not sure but I think that driving in deep water is not the best thing for a car or light suv. On the rear main seal what was the oil change life & type of oil used. Alot of things add up to how long a car last!
Welcome. I'm pretty new too. I bought my HHR 2LT a couple of weeks ago and, like you, hope it gives me many miles of trouble free service. I had an '05 Honda Civic, but needed more space. I bet I drove 20 different cars ranging from Volvo V50 and V70 (they had HUGE incentives) to Kia Sportage. I ended up with the Mazda3 (5 dr), HHR, VW Rabbit (5 dr) and Subaru Impreza (5 dr) on my final 4 list. I narrowed that down to the Mazda and the HHR. I ultimately went with the HHR because it had more room, more features and more style. The Mazda stayed in the hunt for so long mainly due to sporty looks and superior performance (compared to the HHR). So far, I'm really happy with the HHR.

The beauty of Toyota and many imports is you CAN abuse them and they hold up through it all. You do not get the silly little issues of things falling off or panels not lined up perfectly. You do get a happy workforce that builds them.
I bought the HHR because of the price vs features. I have learned to love the look and having a bike the chrome customizing is fun as well. But I still do not have a lot of confidence in GM. But the Buick is proving to be a very reliable and worthy car. Perhaps they are turning around.
So far so good with mine.
Welcome to the site! I am sure you will find it very informative, and friendly. When you get the chance, check into getting the running boards, they help in preventing stone chips and paint blasting. With the 2.4, sounds like you got the 2LT. Enjoy the ride!
you know, I feel...
Welcome, that's it. I feel WELCOME. :-)
Can't wait to hear about the popular mods and tell me more about July in Branson.. sounds like a blast...
Got 1200 miles on that rascal now, and it's a comfy happy car... quiet... and I just got aorund to trying Onstar and that builtin cellphone... TOO cool...
Had a 200 mile hiway roundtrip, got 28 mpg on the road... windy day... I bet I can get 30 if I slow down a bit and have better weather...
And it has the power to pass! I would NEVER want to give that up...
Great sound too... big knobs, easy to operate..
gawd I love this car... :-))
