newer doors on older model
newer doors on older model
Admins: I wasn't sure what forum to put this question in.
I recently found a pair of rust free doors from a 2011 (passenger front and drivers rear).
My 2007 has the power window controls at the bottom of the "waterfall" and power mirror controls are in drivers door.
The 2011 front door has the window control mounted to it. Obviously, I will be using the interior panels from my 07, to delete the switch from the door. but what is involved in altering the front door to be controlled by the waterfall switch?
Thanks in advance.

Sheet metal of the doors are gonna be the same. When swapping the inner panels any other different parts, if there are any, could be swapped as well. Wiring would all still be from the 2007, locks and window motors are probably all the same across all years. If not you've got the 2007 parts.
The wires inside the driver door need to be swapped , the older inner door panel can be used but you will need to modify it .
I would look at using the new inner door panel, so you’ll have a set of dummy switches in the arm rest.

u can change out the doors , the only thing i have had to do is swap the wiring in the door its self and change the small metal bracket the the arm rest of the panel bolts too as its in a different place most doors iv done have the sqr holes off set and u just move the clips for the screws , with that said i have had too make a pattern from the old door and make new holes on some of the later doors ,good luck its a easy swap ,
