Unhappy No military discount for HHR

The HHR is one of three Chevys that the 500 dollar military rebate cannot be used for...the other 2 are the Corvette and Express.

I wonder what their reasoning behind that is? I take it that is squarely out of the dealers hands?

That's wierd; I was at the dealership yesterday completing my HHR purchase and the 500 military rebate is available in Canada. I couldn't use it, but I saw it in the list of rebates in effect. Maybe it's a regional thing, or it's up to the country's head office, I don't know.

Good luck with that, I got myself the 1000 loyalty rebate and 1500 from GM points.

Seeing as the HHR is marketed as a “young man’s car” wouldn’t it make sense to make a discount available for a group that contains that demographic? Last time I checked there were quite a few young men in the US Military.

And yes, Canadian Forces personnel are eligible for the discount here.

Very odd.

That is odd. When I bought mine last year it was available at that time. I didn't qualify cause it was for active duty and not retired....

I had a new Mailbu arrive (customer car) and had to deliver the tags for it today. I noticed about 12 HHR's on this one lot alone. Including one with a conversion package with an 8K markup

I'm sure you could easily get the $500 in there somehow. They are pucking cars hard here. Lot's are stacking up.

When I bought mine back in Oct '05 the military discount didn't apply to the HHR.

I'm surprised it's still on the HHR, but I'm sure you can find a way to get another $500 knocked out. See if you can get the GMID conquest discount!

Even though I'm retired Army I tried for the military discount when I bought my HHR a couple weeks ago. The salesman was all set to give it to me but then was countermanded by the boss who told him the HHR was excluded. It's a mystery to me why any car would be excluded. I wasn't real upset seeing as how I got the GM supplier discount plus the rebate and bonus cash. It was still a bargoon!
