I dislike the 2.4 so much that the HHR is now primarily driven by my wife and I picked up an '07 Saturn Aura for myself.

That said, I still enjoy the HHR and consider myself an enthusiast. It just isn't up to snuff for my daily driving. Perhaps when (if) the fabled HHR SS/Sport appears it will address my concerns.

One more thing, please don't flame me on the merits of 4 versus 6/8/16/32 cylinders or the high-tech nature of the engines. I'll be the first to admit that my dislike of the 2.4 is highly subjective and not reflective of most others.
AND yet, it's the exact same engine that is in my Pontiac Solstice, which goes from 0 - 60 under 8 seconds ( weight is not much of an issue either ).

Well, the two things that sort-of drive me nuts is not being able to turn on the dome lights with a switch and not having a telescoping steering wheel.

Other then that, I love my baby!

I wish it had a locked gas door, with a inside release.

Here my concern:

1- Cup holder to low

2- Windows sw. should be were is the hazard sw

3- Arm rest to short

4- 2.4L with aut. tranny doesn have enough kick when you hit the floor

5- LT 1, suspension a bit loose compare with the LT 2

6- rear wiper sw really low

7- should have a console in between the front seat

But I love my HHR, does minor thing should be taken by GM for the future HHR

Compared to the 3.1L V6 in my old Malibu, the 2.4 is nice. Yes, the 2.4 is noisy. When I stomp on it, I refer to it as my angry sewing machine :)

The 2.4 has a 5 more HP than the V6 had, but it has a bit less torque, but I've adapted. I catch myself doing 20+ over the limit many times.

I didn't find the engine noisy in the 2007 LT that we test drove, but it is noisier in my 2006 LT. Maybe they addressed the engine noise on the 07s.

The lack of good Cup holders. Danged seat belt chine and turn signals in radio. Man I hate that. But, 2 things out of a thousand are OK.

Do you mean a dome light or in the storage area itself?
