Not really related to HHR, but the Orlando is a successor to the HHR, so it might be relevant.

 

Looks like every other car out there. Most all cars since 1980 look alike. That is why I like the HHR.

I wonder why they left the bow tie applique off. They usually lose the bumper for "secrecy", but there is a naked bow tie. Maybe it's a just another ugly Chinesvy.

 

Maybe Chevy used some leftover HHR emblems. It just fell apart.

 

How do people keep tying this to the HHR? Its not an SUV..or a mini van or anything else like that. And it isnt the replacement for it. This is the brother car to the Cobalt, and the son of the 49 panel..wheres the connection?

Ive driven both the orlando and trax, they both have some things in common with the hhr. I wouldnt say either is a direct replacement, although both are going after a similar market - minus the retro styling of course.
The trax is smaller on the outside, but seems pretty close once inside. Im not a fan of the 1.4 turbo engine though.
The orlando (non-hybrid) has the same non-DI 2.4 that was in some HHRs, and i think might be the last GM vehicle to use it. It has a similar size both inside and out, and the more upright seating position. I has 7 seats though, so more of a people mover. Id probably get one if I was in the market for a vehicle right now. Hmm, wonder if the supercharger would fit...

 

If Chevy is using the Orlando platform to figure out a "non eco-weenie hybrid", I'd be all for it. Having driven the Focus, Fusion, and C-Max hybrids, I can tell you that they drive like real cars, not like an enclosed golf cart....think Prius in any of its forms.

The Volt for all of its gee whiz technology just doesn't drive enough like a normal car, you're always reminded that you're in a wheeled i-Pad.

 

The Orlando looked great in the pre production state, then got way watered down.

 

looks boring and run of the mill, there is nothing to make it stand out or even enticing to the Mod Squad crowd, sorry GM but at least I have the HHR but you have about 2 to 3 years to build an interesting ride for me to trade up to.
