outside air temp sensor..

anyone have any idea where the temp sensor would be that detects the outside air temp..?? no problems, just curious. asking because i would have to imagine that it would be somewhere not affected by any outside influences...such as heat from the sun.

thanks....was just wondering because i figured it had to be a SPECIAL place where heat wouldn't end up giving phony temp readings...........

Theory is: it's next to the "cool air" intake, so the computer can compute.

On my SS I have the outside temp and an intake temp(on the RPD). In the45-70mph range , the intake temp will range about 3-5 degrees higher than outside temp.
(it will vary a little depending on conditions)

So can the temperature sensor be re-calibrated since it is so frequently inaccurate?
