I have painted a number of cars over the years, and a touch up is not that big of a deal. I replaced the whole front end of a 2009 smart that was wiped out after hitting a deer, replaced everything from the firewall forward, and have done numerous rust repairs on most of my vehicles. I have used Autotouchup.com as they do the best job of matching the exsisting paint providing they get the correct paint code.
I realize thevehicle will not be a show quality paint job, and that is not what I expect. If I am going to the trouble to repair some rust on the back doors, I'd like the touch up to at least match the color.

I am just asking if the color is a Sunburst orange metallic, or a Sunburst orange II metallic. Pretty sure I can handle pushing the button on a spray can...

heathenhhr, I misunderstood that you worked for a GM dealership. I used to work for an USA based cell phone company, worked almost every holiday and weekends for 8 years. You have to enjoy what days you do get off.
I started my automotive career in GM dealerships, now I'm working for a national rental car fleet so I deal with ALL the manufacturers, got over a decade in the OEM parts world now
the GM parts catalog is still my favorite thou as far as the amount of info you can pull

unfortunately one of my genius techs managed to lock out our password, so I gotta wait till someone in corporate resets it for me, and that sure ain't gonna happen on a Sunday

as far as crazy work schedules, the rental car business does not care about holidays LOL... I'm on week 13? 14? (I've lost count) of working 6 days a week... so yeah, what are days off?

I looked through a bunch of other sites and found a paint code number of WA913L for Sunburst Orange 2 Metallic, which matches the Autotouchup listing for 56. This is what I ordered so we will see if it matches. I only need to paint an area abot 2" by 4" area. and of couse a bunch of small nicks along the edge of the hood, doors etc.

Touchup paint showed up today, I tried the small bottle (with the brush inside) and it seems to match quite well. i need to install the LCA's before I get around to the paint and roof projects..

Cool, now don’t forget, those rear LCA bolts use a 21 mm socket and a breaker bar, no impact air gun! You’re risking busting the cage nuts loose!

thanks for the reminder. I would probably be tempted, but maybe use the battery powered impact. I'll use the long breaker bar. i also have a large selection of metric sockets from the years of dealing with the smart cars and Land Rovers.... Hopefully tomorrow will be a day dedicated to the HHR!!
