Panel Rear Door Programing

I recently bought an 08 Panel which has the fob to open the rear doors. The only problem is, I've had a few occasions where the rear door button on the fob has been hit while in my pocket and the rear door has been opened. My question is, can the my HHR be programmed to only allow the rear doors to open after it has been unlocked?

The Owner Manual does not say anything about programming them. I guess they figured making you hold the button for 1 second is enough safeguard.

I couldn't find anything in my 09 manual from my other HHR either. I find it odd how sensitive the fob seems to be. It is a brand new fob, as the original was missing, so it could be because it's an aftermarket one it's more sensitive.

Thank you for checking!

I think, I'll buy a second fob from GM and see if it is any better. I've never encountered this with any of my GM fobs. It's very odd how easily the rear doors can be released.

Thanks for chiming in!
