Panel speakers

For the last several weeks have tried trouble shooting my audio issues. I only get any sound out of right side rear of my 2009 panel. I think my speakers have gone bad. If I am going to pull the door panels off to check, I might as well replace them. Three sets plus tweeters? For those that have replaced speakers, what work well that won't take all of my Social Security check? Finally got 62K miles on it. Thanks, Bear

Do you hear chimes? The turn signal, door open key in? That means no problem with tweeters.
Speakers go bad due to water infiltration.
I hope that your first step was to check the balance and fade.

Many threads on this issue. To summarize, base door speaker are junk and usually go bad. The pillar tweeters are probably fine.

6-1/2” speakers. Even cheapies are an improvement.

These adaptors make things easy.

I replaced my front speakers with Kenwood 6” coaxial speakers, which markedly improved both high and low ends of the audio spectrum. If you are planning to use aftermarket speakers be sure to purchase the speaker mounting adapters (sold separately) for your HHR. Even though these speakers are marketed as direct replacements, they can NOT be mounted without the adapters.

You can cut the cone out of the old speaker and use it as an adapter.
